Well it'a been quite a while since I posted, life just gets in the way sometimes. I haven't been doing a lot of card making recently but hope to get back into it soon and back into the challenges.

Have finally recovered from lasts weeks trip to London. We had such a fantastic time. So what did we do, well the big highlights were going to the Tutankhamen Exhibition which was amazing, here's me and Teaghen outside the o2

We to see The Lord of the Rings. All I can say is WOW, if you can go and see it, I actually can't find the words to explain how good it was. This is a photo of me & Teaghen before the show and also a photo of the stage.

BIG highlight was seeing the totally gorgeous GEORGE CLOONEY, yes you did hear me right lol but not long enough to get a photo sadly, he looked mighty fine though

We also went on the London Eye, to The natural History Museum and the British Museum which were all FAB but I won't bore you with anymore photos lol apart from this one from the British Museum which was just amazing

Bathing Boo

Lol had a riot today bathing Boo, he has been in the bath before a few times, but today he decided he definitely didn't like it and proceeded to soak me, the bathroom and most of the hallway as well, how something so small can make so much mess I just don't know.

He looked totally gorgeous after he'd been blow dried and brushed though, a real cutie pie. So I will forgive him this time. Here he is all fresh and gorgeous

I am so proud I could burst, we had Brodies parents night this week and the reports were totally amazing, I knew from his report card he was doing well, but the teachers were so full of praise, and are talking about him hopefully attaining all 1's in his standard grades.
This is made all the better by the fact that so many staff objected to him being moved up a year. So many of them were quick to tell me what a huge mistake I was making letting this happen as he was never going to cope, and now he's not only coping but excelling, it's just FAB.

HOW LONG!!

OMG I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted, last year was simply horrible and that's all I'm going to say about it.

Life is better now, I have moved on and I am even getting back into crafting.

Stew bought me a Bind It All yesterday and I'm sooooooo excited I can't wait to get started with it. I am also in the process of rearranging my bed room to give myself a craft corner, it will be great to have a little space to call my own. Hoping to convert the garage in the future but will have to save madly before we can afford that.

Family wise Kayleigh & Paris are both working away Kayleigh is still temping and Paris is working full time for Virgin media, she loves it. Kayleigh is back home temporarily till she finds a new flat, she is planning on sharing with Paris which I'm not sure is a good thing. They were bad enough sharing a bedroom, but a whole house!!

Brodie is doing great, he is now playing pro youth football with Raith Rovers, and spent the first 2 weeks of the year away in Cyprus with them, I missed him so much it was awful, but it was a great opportunity for him, he also did fantastic in his prelims which was great and he is on course to get all credit grades in his Standard grades in May.

Teaghen is doing OK still struggling with school and we are still fighting to try to get him proper support, he has to pick his subjects for next year soon, and it's parents night on Thursday so we will see how things go. he is a bit happier in himself though which is great he stared Scouts a while ago and it really seems to be bringing him on and giving him confidence.

Stewart was promoted again and is working way to hard as always.

As I said I'm OK. Coping a bit better with the M.E but still get frustrated when i can't do things. Am learning to slowly to just except it though

What else? Oh we got a new puppy just before Christmas, he is called Boo and is a cross between a Lhasa Apso and a Yorkshire Terrier, he is so adorable and such a funny wee thing, totally full of character. this is a photo of him

Not had a chance to take part in the DCM Challenge for abut just loved this weeks theme of wings. This is made using the blonde moments stamps and a photo of Paris, it's been painted with twinkling H2O's, the background is stamped with a pearlescent ink pad and with a Wish staple

For this one I just stamped the image and painted it with H2O's, stamped the background in a contrasting colour, then finished it with a ribbon

OMG what a mad couple of weeks, feel like I have had no time to myself at all. Kayleigh started a new job, Stewart got promoted, Brodie has had exams, Teaghen is ill, Paris is job hunting and I've been spending loads of time at my mums. Feeling totally exhausted by it all. Hopefully things have settled down now (fingers crossed) had a crop on saturday which was great a full 6 hours of scrapping and chatting, it was bliss. managed a few LO's too and a few things for the cybercrop on UKS.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE. It is a glorious day here today, just has to bring a smile to your face. Had a quiet couple of days, this weekend is the anniversary of my nans death so I always find it hard, going to pop to the cemetery later.

Have a busy day planned to keep my mind active though, when my lot eventually surface, we will paint our eggs, then go out and roll them down a hill up the road, we then have an egg hunt planned, then a big family dinner. Just been on CBC and found out I won the tarted egg box challenge, how cool is that, my little chick winning a prize, photos are in the post below. Made a card for the tag challenge this week too, went for the vintage feel and am really pleased with how it turned out, here it is. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up too

Right hand up I confess I am a useless blogger! I have had a lot going on the last wee while but it's no excuse for not updating this blog. I promise I will try harder in future.

The reason I haven't been around is my mum has been ill, not going to go in to all the details but it's been a really tough few weeks. Hoping the next few will be better. Also my CFS/ME has been really bad so have been sleeping sooooooo much.

On a positive note though have done a fair bit of crafting, took my stash to my mums and this kept me busy while she was asleep. Here is some of what what I've been making

OMG Can't believe I have left this sooooooo long again, I should be ashamed of myself. Been feeling pretty pants lately to be honest and haven't had much to say. Am feeling more like ME now so I am back! Promise I will be a better blogger and keep this up to date. haven't really been up to much, had a bit of a spending frenzy and have bought so much its unreal. My new stash list includes, A Big Shot, a kandie kane, a fastenator, 3 dolly mamas stamps, a set of Rhonna farrer stamps, a handbag Die, Twinkling H2O's (which are amazing), 3D Liquid applique set, loads of big blooms and Krylon pens. It's been FAB. Have done a little bit crafting too but not as much as i would have liked had i had more energy. Here are a few.

OMG how long has it been since I last blogged, Should be ashamed of myself. Have an excuse though, have been recovering from this horrible chest infection so have been sleeping most of the time, think I may have turned a corner now though (fingers crossed anyway) and even managed to do a bit crafting last night for the first time in ages.

Not much other news to tell as I haven't been up to anything. Brodie had his school trip to Disneyland Paris last week and I missed him so much, was also a naughty mummy, I went to wave him off (getting out of my sick bed may I say) and when we got to the bus in all the excitement to get their seats he didn't say goodbye!! Well I wasn't having that so on to the bus I climbed and went right up the back and gave him a kiss and cuddle, poor boy, all his friends gave a huge round of applause, good job all the kids from the school know me or he may never have lived it down, but the lads were cool, and the girls thought it was really sweet, so think I got away with it. He brought me back a gorgeous Eeyore soft toy and a tigger mug, which is really cute. Apart from that, I've been sleeping, stews been working, the girls have been working and the boys going to school, so a pretty dull life all round, got 3 days off school this week though so they are looking forward to that and stew has taken them off too so hopefully I will feel up to doing something, I'm keeping fingers, toes and everything else crossed.

Been a while

Seems like ages since I last blogged. Have had a rotten couple of weeks, I've been really ill, Stewarts been ill and my little brother has been in hospital with pneumonia. Luckily Stew & Darren are on the mend, but I'm still feeling rubbish! Doc says it will be like this sometimes and I just have to except it and rest, which is the bit I struggle with, oh well not to worry, things can only get better I suppose.

Anyway on a brighter note it was my birthday on Saturday which was lovely, got thoroughly spoilt and enjoyed every minute of it. I got the creative zen player I have been after for ages and it's brilliant, even better than I imagined. Got lots of other lovely bits including perfume, a watch, flowers, clothes and I got a set of Rhona Farrer stamps too, they're LUSH!!. Even managed to make it out for a meal on Saturday night, so the diet went out the window but the meal was lovely, so well worth it. Hope everyone in blogland is well.

Hi everyone in blogland. How is everyone? Back to reality, work, school etc... don't have that problem for a while, I'm signed off till 18th and then will see if I am any better, I do hope so, am itching to get back to work and normality, but know I just can't cope with it yet , do you think perhaps they could build in a couple of sleeps throughout the day to keep me going.
Am really really excited as we booked our holiday to Florida tonight this will be our first time and I am more excited than the kids (how sad is that) . We fly out on the 15th of October so that's 282 days!!
Have been sorting through photos that I want to scrap tonight, so am now scanning them in and printing them off it's a nightmare job, takes absolutely ages, but will be worth it ( just keep telling myself that as I load another one in the scanner!!).
We have also started on one of our new year resolutions tonight, 1st one is too get back in touch with friends we haven't seen for a while. Was lovely chatting to them tonight,and we have arranged to meet up soon, which will be lovely. Still got a few more to contact, so plan to do this by next week. There is also a get together with my crafty mates on the card soon which will be great, Seems like an age since we last saw each other. It's amazing how time passes and before you know it, you haven't seen people for months, no more though, this year will be differrent
Next I'm going to get back on my diet. Was going to leave this till I was better but have decided I'm starting next week. I lost 3 1/2 stone last year but think I have put a bit back on while I have been ill, just due to lack of exercise, sitting around the house all day exhausted and not adjusting my eating. This want to reach my goal before I go to Florida.
Final resolution is to spend more quality time with the kids. We have decided to take a little step back from running the football teams, although we will still oversee everything, we are going to delegate more. Think it put it in perspective when out of 130 odd kids we only received Xmas cards from 4 felt a bit unappreciated , not that we do it for praise but a thank you is always nice, especially for all the hard work we put in, and the time we have to give up that we could be spending as a family!
So 2007 is looking more positive and I'm feeling much more like the old me. This horrible Illness is not getting me down anymore, mind over matter and all that!!!

Know I'm a bit late but want to wish everyone in blogland a HAPPY NEW YEAR
Have been really under the weather the last few days so have been in bed, but feel a little brighter today so thought I'd pop on and say hi.
Hope everyone had a great time and the weather didn't spoil anyones plans to much. it was awful though couldn't believe how bad the wind was, quite scary! Next doors trampoline which is about 13ft ended up on its side with half of it bent over our fence. Good job they had it chained down or who know where it might have ended up. Been all quiet since though so fingers crossed that's the worst of it passed.
Off for a quick scoot around the net now.

Really chuffed that I managed to finish my LO for my chocolate button team challenge on UKS. The brief we decided on was, Use chocolate coloured paper, Buttons, Either the word new, a significant date or Roman numerals ( I used all 3 just to be on the safe side) and journaling. really chuffed with it as it's one of my fav photos and it was such a big moment in all our lives. the Tag reads: 28/8/92 The day we officially became a family, I was so proud as I became your wife and you became Daddy

Well I have just recovered from Christmas and all in all it was a good one although it wiped me out. Christmas Eve we went to the Winter Wonderland in Edinburgh and it was great fun but totally freezing. Here we are

Christmas day itself was great apart from the girls fighting. Thought they might have learned to love each other by now but no such luck. They were at each others throats most of the time, but I still managed to have fun. Here are a few photos, mostly the boys as the girls barely cracked a smile

Everyone seemed to like there prezzies. As for me I got some gorgeous perfume, a new dressing gown and slippers, the Take That CD, Loads of bath smellies and my new phone.
Here is my new toy. It's the samsung Blush and It's sooooooo cute. Really must make a phone charm to go with it

Well not been around much in the last week, have been really under the weather but feeling a little brighter today. can't believe it's so close to Christmas, starting to panic, but I'm sure it will al get done.

Stewart and I became the proud owners of a new taxi this week. Really excited that we got it all through before Christmas as this is the busiest time of the year. FIL has a taxi business so it will be running on their system, so shouldn't be too much work for us, which is just as well because with me being ill ans Stewart still recovering from his op there isn't much we could do anyway.

Spent most of last night finishing my card order. So relieved they are finally done. Have been stressing so much about not getting these finished. Not 100% happy with some of the cards, doing 17 on the trot I kind of ran out of inspiration, but they are done. Here are some of my favs. Didn't photograph to well but you get the idea.

Kindness

Can't believe what just happened. The front went a wee while ago and when I answered it one of the coaches from our footie team was standing with his arms full of plastic containers, because he knows Stew and I are both ill he cooked us a curry. Have just finished it and it was delicious. He gave us poppadoms, lime pickle the works. Cannot believe the kindness he has shown really lets you know who your friends are when you are ill. My Mil also dropped me in a lovely plant today.

I haven't done as much crafting as I hoped, but have got the LO done for the UKS weekly challenge and am half way through Carolyns daily challenge although starting to tire now. Anyway here is my momentous occasions LO. The brief was it had to be a momentous occasion, think my wedding day qualifies. You had to use the last thing you bought , this was my basic grey monograms, Use an embellishment in a new way, I covered the monogram with fabric which I have never done before and finally use fabric, I covered the monogram, there is sheer fabric behind the photo and the 2 hearts are cut from fabric too. I stuck the fabric to card first so i could put it though the sizzix. I also hand cut the title, took ages I soooooooo need a robo.

Really pleased with it though and it's my fav wedding photo.

Crafty Day!

Well have woken up feeling a wee bit better today, woooo hoooo, so going to try to have a crafty day. I plan to make a few more Chrimbo cards for my order, going to try the weekly challenge on UKScrappers, need to earn points for my team the chocolate buttons and try the daily challenge on Crafts by Carolyn.
Now that's the plan but no idea if I'll manage it all.
Also need to do some online Chrimbo shopping. Can't believe it's so close now and I'm so unorganised. Normally by this time of year I have bought and wrapped at least 95%, this year I have bought a couple of things and that's it!!
Stew is feeling incredibly rough today, poor baby, the pain has really kicked in. My eldest daughter Kayleigh is staying with us for a few days to nurse us both. What a little sweetheart she is. She has been so good and has even tidied the house a wee bit, as it was starting to resemble a pigsty! So all in all hoping that today will be a good day. FINGERS CROSSED!!

OMG what a day. Spent most of the afternoon on tenderhooks worrting about Stew. Couldn't settle to anything so was very relieved when the hospital phoned to say he was fine. he is home tomorrow and I can't wait.
Had my own visit to the doctors today, he is totally stumped. He has arranged for me to go to the hospital on Wednesday for more tests, so will have to see what happens then.Starting to get a bit panicy about Chrimbo now as I really have got so much to do but no energy to do it.
Right off to bed and hopefully get some sleep tonight

Well energy has well and truly deserted, have spent today sleeping on and off. Hubby came in at 4pm with a rush card order from a boy at his work. Wanted to say no but the guy is a really good customer, so had to do it. Stew was like just
throw something together but after I glared at him and explained that the guy wouldn't be a customer for long if I did that I think he got the message! I've got the doctors in the morning so really hoping he can change my painkillers as the ones I'm on are really making me itch badly. Also don't know if it's related but my feet have swollen up to about double the size, so will be interesting trying to find shoes to wear. Maybe I can just go in my slippers. lol

I'm feeling really anxious tonight too. Stewart goes in for his operation tomorrow and, people keep reassuring me he'll be fine but I just can't stop worrying, and he doesn't help by making jokes like IF i come home we will ...... and you do know what I want played at my funeral. I know it's his way of stopping himself worrying but it just makes me worse. So will be a bit on tender hooks tomorrow. Will have to make stuff to keep my mind occupied.
Feel like this has been a real whinge (sorry) hopefully be much more upbeat after tomorrow is over and done with and stew is home safe and sound

Printing on Twill Instructions

As Kathy so nicely asked if I could explain how I did this, here goes. It's really simple to do, you just type your text in a word document, so can use any font colour you like or add a picture etc. I make my text size 20 but could do it smaller or slightly bigger if you wanted, then I print it out. I cut the twill to size and stick it over the text using double sided tape, print again and the text should be on the twill, if you put your paper in the correct way that is ,which i didn't first time round! So really simple but effective. Hope I've explained this OK, any questions just yell.

Productive Day

Well I'm having a pretty good crafting day today. Have done 1 LO for album only 1 to go YAY, 3 dare cards which are so much fun, can't understand why I haven't joined in before, it's such a great idea. Also just done a birthday card for Kayleigh. Really pleased with it. I alcohol inked a domino then cut a letter K (Girls Are Weird of course)which I embossed in silver, then 3D glazed the top, (did this last night so the glaze would dry)I stamped 2 butterflies on shrink plastic then chalked and shrunk, and finally threaded one onto some wire which I had beaded, then it was just a case of putting it all together. It hasn't photographed very well, looks much better in real life.So all round a good day. Got an order for 15 Christmas cards too today so will have to get cracking on them. Just have to chose times when my energy levels are up which are few and far between, but will get there.

Star Dare

Well have had a quick go at the star dare from the DCM website. Both cards are quite simple but quite pleased with them. I printed the twill for the red one which turned out better than I thought it would. Last time I tried to print onto twill ended up in an inky mess. Roll on Friday for the next dare!!

Ahhhhh going mad. feeling really grotty and sore but sleep seems to be alluding me!. have had to get up as hubby has work in a few hours and I keep waking him up. I'm definitely blaming these new tablets. If they are not making me itch they are making me a bit dizzy and hyper, but they do take away the pain so whats a girl to do. Think I will ask the doc for an alternative when I see him this week, during my weekly outing, yep for the last 4 weeks the only place I've been apart from one night is to see my doctor. Keep hoping I'll feel better but just keep feeling worse. It's so sad. Anyway one good thing came out of not sleeping I managed to do another scrapbook LO for Poppys book, don't really like it that much but hey its a page. Have a lookie here
